# About King of Apps

King of Apps is a public leaderboard of apps ranked only by how much their makers paid. There is no algorithm, no voting and no editor: the order of the board is the order of the money. Makers pay to climb, pay the difference to defend their spot, and every click goes straight to the app.

## How bidding works

1. Enter your app's URL. King of Apps fetches its title, description and icon.
2. Pick the rank you want. The price is $1 more than whoever holds it now.
3. Pay through the hosted checkout. You land back on the board at your new rank.
4. Outbid? Come back and pay only the difference to retake your spot.
